Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine that works with the body’s natural healing ability to restore balance and vitality.
With ancient roots which can be traced to Hippocrates, Homeopathy was codified over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann.
Homeopathy is now the second most commonly used form of healthcare in the world, with over 400 million regular users. About 8 million people in th UK are regular recipients of this wonderful, gentle form of healthcare.
One thing that makes Homeopathy different is that it treats a whole person. Andy is interested in the diagnosis from your GP but much more interested in YOU. This is reflected in the nature of questions you will be asked and the length of time consultations take.
Because of this whole-person approach, Homeopathic treatment takes into account your individuality, and your particular emotional and physical state in a different way than conventional healthcare.
What might Homeopathy treat?
People seek homeopathic treatment for many different reasons. There are good studies showing Homeopathy can help with for a wide range of ailments.
Here are just a few:
Sports and other physical injuries
Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder
Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sinusitis/Allergic Rhinitis
Childhood Diarrhea, Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Complementary or Alternative?
Homeopathy can complement conventional healthcare and works well in partnership with treatment from your GP.
All you need to do is tell your homeopath about any conventional treatments you are receiving and we will take it into account when considering your case. Homeopathy may be useful if you wish to reduce the amount of conventional drugs you take.
What are remedies made from?
Homeopathic remedies come from a wide range of sources: animal, plant and mineral. Remedies come in various forms, including hard pills and soft tablets. We may also prescribe oral liquid remedies containing small amounts of alcohol. As they are highly dilute and contain only a small material dose, all remedies can be used safely alongside conventional medicine. Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic, non habit-forming, and do not have side effects.
Andy studied Homeopathy at the Centre for Homeopathic Education (CHE) in London. He is especially interested and experienced in treatment of sports injuries, including those from outdoor activities such as climbing and mountaineering as well as rugby, football and the like. He also has an interest and experience in treatment of asthma, eczema, digestive and respiratory problems and is regularly consulted on a wide range of other problems.
